Egypt was the first to be completed, and being the first, it helped to me realize the direction that I wanted to take the project into, but it wasn't easy. For some reason, I thought it would be, but found that sometimes you can have too many options, as it happened to be with regards to the reference material. If I was going to use this material, then I wanted something entirely unique, light and playful and would help me to retain her essence.

I couldn't resist looking to the past to harken the mystery and romance. I got lucky when I found and reproduced a couple of images of the musicians and the dancer. A rare find. Musicians are usually portrayed clapping hands or playing some kind of percussion instrument; only on special occassions will you see a wood wind instrument portrayed and on these special occasions, you'll see a dancer leaping and performing acrobatics.
